Joanne Britton

Joanne Britton is a lecturer in Applied Sociology in the Department of Sociological Studies at the University of Sheffield. Her research interests are centred on the study of race and ethnic relations, social identity and inter-generational relationships. She has researched and written about the meaning and role of race, ethnicity and identity in different contexts. Her current interests are focused on the study of multi-culture, critical whiteness studies and mixed race studies. She also has a long-standing personal and academic interest in the social and political position of European Muslims.
