Lexie Scherer

I became interested in studying minority children’s reading, and the use of participatory methods in research with children whilst teaching in a London school. Having applied for, and been awarded an ESRC 1+3 Studentship in Sociology at the University of Surrey, I completed a one year ethnographic study in a multicultural Primary School. After completing my PhD, I began working in the School of Education at the University of Portsmouth, where I currently lecture in Childhood Studies.
