Biographical Note

Alison Bowes is Senior Lecturer in Sociology in the Department of Applied Social Science at the University of Stirling. Her specialist field of research concerns minority ethnic groups and their access to housing, health and social services. Recent work includes Pakistani Women and Maternity Care: Raising Muted Voices (with T. M. Domokos, Sociology of Health and Illness, 1996) and Tenure Preference and Housing Strategy: An Exploration of Pakistani Experiences (with D. Sim and N. Dar, Housing Studies, forthcoming).
