Ross Mitchell

Ross Mitchell

Ross Mitchell is completing a Ph.D. in Rural Sociology at the University of Alberta in Canada. He holds a Master's of Science in Rural Planning & Development and a Bachelor's of Science in Forestry. Much of his research and professional experience has been in forested environments of northern Canada, Latin America, and Australia. His current research interests are in rural community development, environmental sociology, political ecology, and ecotourism. He is also currently teaching an undergraduate course in Rural Communities and Global Economies, and consults as a resource sociologist with the Alberta Research Council.
