Paola Tubaro, Louise Ryan and Alessio D'Angelo

Paola Tubaro

Dr Paola Tubaro is Reader in economic sociology, programme leader for PhD and MPhil degrees, and research coordinator of the economics and international business department, at the University of Greenwich. She conducts research on social networks with particular focus on online communities, organisational networks, the social embeddedness of the digital economy, and network data and methods. She has published in journals such as Social Networks, Networks Science, and Field Methods. With Alessio D’Angelo, she is co-convenor of the Social Network Analysis Study Group (SNAG) of the British Sociological Association (BSA). She has extensive experience of teaching social network science to varied academic and professional audiences.

Louise Ryan

Prof Louise Ryan is professor of sociology and co-director of the Social Policy Research Centre at Middlesex University. She has a particular interest in migrant social networks and has published extensively on this topic in journals such as Sociology, Sociological Review, Sociological Research Online and Global Networks. Louise has authored numerous books including most recently: Migrant Capital: Networks, Identities, Strategies (editors Louise Ryan, Umut Erel and Alessio D'Angelo), Palgrave, 2015. Louise is currently working on a large research project as part of the European Framework 7 funding stream (with D'Angelo, Kaye and Lorinc).

Alessio D'Angelo

Dr Alessio D'Angelo is a Senior Lecturer in Social Sciences at Middlesex University. He has expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, with particular experience in social statistics, spatial analysis and data visualisation, focusing increasingly on social network analysis. He is co-convenor of the Social Network Analysis Study Group (SNAG) of the British Sociological Association (BSA). Alessio has been conduction research on a wide range of areas, including migration, ethnic diversity, community organisations, service provision and social exclusion. Alessio is currently working on a FP7 project on young people in Europe and an ESRC-funded project on Mediterranean migration.
