Tamir Bar-On, McGill University, Montréal, Canada

Tamir Bar-On was born in Beersheba, Israel, on June 23, 1967 but settled in Toronto, Canada, with his family in 1974. He received his BA and MA in political science from York University in Toronto. Publications include: 'The Extreme Right in Western Europe: A Literature Review', McGill Journal of Political Studies, 1992; 'The Contemporary Islamic Movements in Egypt: Historical Roots, Causes and Constraints', McGill Journal of Middle East Studies, 1992 - 93. Tamir is currently completing a PhD in political science at McGill University in Montréal, Canada, with a dissertation on contemporary European New Right intellectuals. Whilst his current football club side is Toronto Maccabi, he has also played for the McGill University Redmen between 1992 and 1995. He is a confessed football romantic pulled towards a 'universal' brand of aesthetic, attractive, creative, and free-flowing 'pure' football.
