Andy Smith

Andy Smith is Professor of Sport and Physical Activity and Associate Head of the Department of Sport and Physical Activity at Edge Hill University, UK. He is Co-Editor of the International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics and co-author of Sport Policy and Development (with Daniel Bloyce), Disability, Sport and Society (with Nigel Thomas), and An Introduction to Drugs in Sport (with Ivan Waddington). He is also Co-Editor (Ivan Waddington) of Doing Real World Research in Sports Studies, which is due to be published in 2014.

David Haycock

David Haycock is Lecturer in Physical Education and School Sport at Edge Hill University, UK. He is the Editorial Assistant of the International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics and has published a range of peer-reviewed articles in the sociology of physical education, sport, leisure and youth. David is currently completing his Ph.D on the sporting and leisure careers of university students.

Nicola Hulme

Nicola Hulme is currently researching (with Andy Smith) the ways in which current and former elite level athletes manage the various constraints experienced by them during the course of their careers. In addition to her research role, she also currently holds a post in Cardiac Rehabilitation at the Countess of Chester Hospital, Chester, UK.
