David Beer

David Beer is Senior Lecturer in Sociology in the Department of Sociology at the University of York, UK. His research is predominantly in the area of the sociology of culture and specifically focuses upon popular culture, new media and sound. He is currently exploring the potential of popular culture for expanding the methodological, conceptual and communicative repertoire of sociology and the social sciences. His recent publications in this area include articles in Sociology, CITY, Cultural Sociology, Mobilities and Sociological Research Online.

Mark Taylor

Mark Taylor is a Research Associate at the ESRC Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change (CRESC), University of Manchester, where he is working on the AHRC-funded project "Understanding Everyday Participation - Articulating Cultural Value". His research interests include cultural participation and consumption, and social stratification.
