Ryan Powell is a Principal Research Fellow in the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR) at Sheffield Hallam University with research interests in the broad areas of urban sociology and geographies of exclusion. Specific interests relate to outsider and stigmatised groups in society, the governance of conduct and the sociology of Norbert Elias.
