Nelson Turgo obtained his undergraduate degree (English Studies - Creative Writing) from the University of the Philippines-Diliman and his PhD (Sociology - Global Political Economy) from Cardiff University, Wales, UK. He is currently an assistant researcher at the Seafarers International Research Centre, School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University, UK.
