Ciaran Thomas Burke

Ciaran T. Burke is a 3rd year PhD student in Queen's University Belfast. His working title for his doctoral research is ' A Critical Examination of the Role of Habitus in Graduate Employment.' In adopting a Bourdieusian framework, its focus is concerned with understanding the strategies graduates undertake when looking for graduate employment, their creation and process, and to understand whether the habitus plays an influential role. Ciaran has given a number of papers, in both British and international settings regarding the role of social theory in educational research, and specifically the contiuning significance of a Bourdieusian approach.
