I am the Foundation Year Coordinator at the University of Leeds and convene the BA Social Sciences Foundation Programme which widens participation to education. For several years, I have been a youth worker in youth centres as well as a detached worker on the streets. My key areas of research are children and young people's intimate relationships; education practices; class, gender and sexuality. My doctoral research is entitled: 'Sex and Relationship Education (SRE) and Young People's Lived Experiences' and investigates the 'gaps' that exist in SRE knowledge, provision and practice, as well as exploring young people's social, gendered and classed identities, and relations.
