Lucy Brindle

Lucy Brindle studied for a combined arts degree, combining genetics with sociology and history at the University of Newcastle in the early nineties, followed by a discourse analysis PhD at Cardiff University. Informed by post graduate training provided by Paul Atkinson and colleagues in Cardiff and various developments in ethnomethodology, discourse, conversation and narrative analyses she developed an interest in 'the turn to language' which influenced her future research in the area of health and illness. She is now a senior research fellow in the School of Health Sciences in Southampton.
