Wendy Martin

Wendy Martin is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Health and Social Care, University of Reading, developing a research agenda into the social aspects of ageing. She has recently completed her PhD entitled Embodying 'active' ageing: bodies, emotions and health in later life (Department of Sociology, University of Warwick). Her current research interests and projects include research into emotions and later life; ageing bodies; families and caring in South Asian communities; perceptions of safety and security; visual images and risk; and food, poverty and place.

Helen Bartlett

Helen Bartlett is Professor and Director of the Australasian Centre on Ageing, at the University of Queensland. She has held appointments at Universities in UK, Hong Kong and Australia, including inaugural director of the Oxford Centre for Health Care Research and Development and the Oxford Dementia Centre at Oxford Brookes University. Her research interests span the health and social dimensions of ageing, with a particular focus on quality and policy issues in community and aged care, including consumer/user perspectives.
